We began somewhere else

mHub did not start as a consultancy. We started as clinicians, working one-to-one with people from banks, telecoms, and corporates in Rwanda and other African countries. And we still run our own psychotherapy clinic there today.

What we found there

That work taught us something we did not expect. The people sitting in front of us were not, for the most part, unwell. They were capable people working inside conditions that made good work difficult: unclear decisions, coordination that had stopped functioning, workloads nobody had looked at in years, managers leading without ever having been taught how. We could help the individual. We could not, from that chair, change what they were going back into on Monday.

So we moved. Not away from what we knew, but upstream of it. We took the method we had been trained in – examine, diagnose, treat, follow up – and applied it to the organization instead of the individual. That is what mHub is now: a consulting partner for leadership effectiveness and workforce performance, built by clinicians, working on the part of a company that runs on people.

The clinical work continues. It is where our diagnostic method comes from, and it is why people tell us things they would never write in a staff survey.

We work with what you already have – your existing leadership, your existing teams, your existing operating model. We do not restructure organizations and we do not redesign processes. The work is to make the organization function as it was meant to. We are rigorous about performance and we are human in how we pursue it; those are not in tension. An organization performs through people who are able to think clearly, work together, and sustain it. Performance bought at the cost of the people producing it does not hold.
